When we’re always chasing the “perfect,” we miss so much of what’s quietly beautiful.
Yesterday at the beach, I set myself a different intention. To let go of trying to capture the perfect shot and instead allow myself to see
what wanted to be seen.
On my usual path down, a man stopped me and said a large snake had just been on the track.
So I turned. I chose another way.
That small detour changed everything.
The light spilled differently there.
The sun fell onto leaves and flowers my grandparents once grew at their home.
As it caught them, they glowed. Warm. Familiar.
It felt like a gentle nod from them.
A reminder not to fear a different path,
but to trust it.
This path wasn’t busy. It wasn’t worn down. But it shimmered. Sun filtering through branches. Petals lit from within. Moments most people would walk straight past without noticing. Yet it felt like it had been waiting, quietly, just for me.
For the first time in a long while, I felt my heart lift. A sense of purpose. A reason for being here. Not to rush or prove or perfect, but simply to glow.
To be a small light on a quieter road.
It’s still a snake energy year, and in that moment,
I found myself grateful for the snake.
What felt like a warning became an invitation.
A push toward the unfamiliar.
A reminder that the other path isn’t
something to fear.
It’s mine.
A slower way. A softer way. A path filled with golden reasons to keep walking.
And as I stood there, wrapped in light,
it felt like a blessing.
A confirmation.
A quiet knowing that I’m ready.
Ready to choose differently.
Ready to trust the glow.
Ready to walk the path that shines back.
